As I said in my previous writeup at an EHR user conference, I believe there’s no way for the culture of a company not to appear at their user conference. Here’s a quick summary of some of the announcements made at the eClinicalWorks conference along with some of our own commentary on what was said and shared.
But these health IT leaders feel far from empowered and choiceful as consumers in todays EHR vendor monoculture, Harm Scherpbier, MD, explains in his book , Unvendor. It is not yet something you would find in a typical EHR, although some of the largest firms might say its part of their future roadmap.
One of the nice things about living in Las Vegas is that almost all the health IT conferences come to Las Vegas. Sadly, that wasn’t actually true for the Cerner user conference which was held in Kansas City. Below you’ll find a summary of some of the perspectives and announcements I heard at the conference.
