Last week, Thailand began development of its telemedicine programme at 32 hospitals located in rural areas in eight provinces, according to an article by the Bangkok post. The telemedicine programme is a joint effort of the PublicHealth Ministry and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).
The American Telemedicine Association, the Connected Health Initiative and other industry groups issued a letter to Congress on Friday urging legislators to extend temporary telehealth flexibilities until the end of 2021. That flexibility, in turn, shed light on how arbitrary some of those restrictions were.
In that regard, Thailand has begun development of its telemedicine programme at 32 hospitals located in rural areas in eight provinces since March this year.
